  7. This Micro-Mod modelling/imaging program features printer Q.C. and final
  8. (color) plotter output of synthetic time sections from users'
  9. geological/geophysical models (rock velocities, densities, and thicknesses).
  10. Inverse (imaging mode) input is seismic travel time data (field or processed
  11. sections); output is imaged 2-D geologic depth section. The recursive
  12. layer-by-layer algorithms handle complex geologic/geophysical models,
  13. reflection and refraction wavefields, and are based on wave-equation applied in
  14. the frequency domain. Concurrent velocity determination is to be included.
  15. Interaction, speed, and friendliness are paramount; principal users are
  16. geologists and groups, at their desks, with little knowledge or interest in
  17. programming, who wish to predict expected data or image observed time data in
  18. depth with varying parameters
